The founder and CEO, Dell Incorporated, Mr. Michael Dell,
who made a surprise visit to Nigeria recently, described this as part of
efforts to expand its scope in the Sub-Saharan African market particularly
Nigeria.
He said the local Dell laboratory would showcase its range
of solutions as well as offer customers the opportunity of experiencing the
solutions in a live environment. Dell
said the global PC maker would also provide engineer certification facilities
in Nigeria so that its partners would not have to travel to incur huge travel
expenses and visa inconveniences to go overseas for certification, while at the
same time giving more engineers the opportunity to acquire the necessary
skills.
The CEO said Dell Computer would also set up a credible
service centre to boost after sales services in the country, adding that an
industry data centre was being considered for the Nigerian market.
