DSTV Error Code Self Service

Below is a list of DSTV DIY service- part 1


 Error Code
 Solution
 E04 Please insert the Smartcard
 Your smartcard might have been inserted incorrectly or in the incorrect slot. Remove the Smartcard, wipe with a soft dry cloth and re-insert. If message re-appears, reboot
 E06 Smartcard fault: Cannot Read
E06 The Smartcard is either faulty or has been inserted upside down. If it is faulty, please take it to your nearest MultiChoice Branch / Agent.
 Your Smartcard is faulty or has been inserted upside down. Please re-insert your smartcard with the chip facing downwards and the arrows facing the decoder.
 E05 Cannot read Smartcard
E05 The Smartcard is either invalid or has been inserted upside down.
 The incorrect Smartcard is inserted or the Smartcard might have been inserted incorrectly or has collected dust. Remove the Smartcard, ensure that it is free of dust and re-insert it with the chip facing downwards and the arrows facing the decoder.
 E07 Checking Smarcard
E07 The decoder is checking the Smartcard and current viewing status. Please wait
 The decoder is checking the Smartcard. If the message is still displayed after 30 seconds remove the Smartcard, wait for the E04 error code then re-insert the Smartcard. If E07 reappears, reboot your decoder.
 E16 Service is currently scrambled
E16 The Smartcard is not enabled for this channel. It may be that your account has been suspended. Please contact the MultiChoice Call Centre for assistance.
 Transmission might be temporarily suspended. Press Menu then 4 to check your Mail Messages, and if you have a notification from us to pay your account, then payment needs to be made before services can be reactivated. If your account is not suspended, then SMS E16 followed by your smartcard number to 32472
 E17 There is a Smartcard marriage conflict. Please contact the MultiChoice Call Centre for assistance.

Ensure smartcard is in Decoder and either:
 E19 Service is currently scrambled please wait
E19 Your account has been suspended. Please contact the MultiChoice Call Centre for assistance.
 Please wait a few minutes for your subscription status to be verified. Please call your nearest DStv Call Centre  (012703232) if the message is not cleared in 2 minutes.
 E30 Checking the subscription status
E30 Checking the subscription status… If this message still appears after 2 minutes, please contact the MultiChoice Call Centre for assistance.

Your smartcard is checking your subscription status.
If this message does not go away after 2 minutes please contact the DStv Contact Centre (012703232)
 E34 Cannot Read Smartcard
E34 The Smartcard is invalid for this country or network. Please contact the MultiChoice Call Centre for assistance.
 Your Smartcard is either not valid for this country or network. Please contact your local DStv Call Centre.
 E38 program map table not available
E38 This channel is closed. Press i or check the 8-day TV Guide to find out when it will open.
 Check whether the problem is being experienced on all channels. 
  • Reset the Decoder:
·          
    • Power and Music note on single view decoders 
    • Menu and Down arrow on Dual view, 
    • P- and V+ on PVR simultaneously
If not resolved
Possible Fault: Installation fault being experienced.
Recommendation: A DStv Accredited Installer needs to be called out.
